Stick and Puck

Welcome to Stick and Puck! The names stems from my love of the game of hockey. I cannot guarantee up-to-date hockey information here, but I can guarantee my political views and bizarre sense of humor will be in full effect. If you are easily offended, or have an affinity for the Repulican Party, you may want to read elsewhere. If you have an open mind and good sense of humor, come on in. PLAY HOCKEY ALREADY! (dammit)

You know...as a fan of the game this strike really irks me. I know I'm not alone. The simple fact that two sides are arguing over money is preventing millions of fans from watching the game they love dearly. I think Canada is in a terrible position. My brothers to the North are finding out there really isn't much to do when the NHL isn't in full swing. That's a shame. Hell, an Ottawa man who recently passed blasted Commissioner Gary Bettman (F you Gary) and NHLPA leader Boob Goodenow(..yes...I mean boob) in his obituary.

Players and other head honchos are meeting agian tomorrow, hopefully in a last ditch effort to salvage the season..or what's left of it. If they do resume the season, it will be a darn short one. I find it hard to award someone the Stanley Cup after playing 20 games, but that's just me.

It's really irritating. The owners say the season is gone, the only people who can really make the season happen are saying the season is gone...hell...even "The Great One" feels the season is gone too. I think the most irritating thing is that the NHL and NHLPA have had 10 years to figure out how to keep this season on track and they waited 9 years and 11 months to start talking about it. We are over the half way mark of the season and we have yet to see a game on the horizon. I think it's time for the players to suck it up and yell "GAME ON" because millions of us hockey depraved citizens are going nuts without it. For the love of God, and the love of the game get this season going.

On a good note...Dallas Stars fans are in for a treat if the season begins this year...Notihing beats cheap ticket prices. It's probably the only good decision the Stars organization has made in a while. Good for them.
