Stick and Puck

Welcome to Stick and Puck! The names stems from my love of the game of hockey. I cannot guarantee up-to-date hockey information here, but I can guarantee my political views and bizarre sense of humor will be in full effect. If you are easily offended, or have an affinity for the Repulican Party, you may want to read elsewhere. If you have an open mind and good sense of humor, come on in. HELLO NHL, GOODBYE CABLE COMPANY!

Every year about this time I call the cable company and order NHL Center Ice. I moved into a new house last year. With that, I had to sign on with a new cable company. This cable company is only available in small rural areas of Arizona out where I am. Since there was no NHL season last year I didn't order the NHL Center Ice package. This year I was stoked! I called my cable company to order the package giddy with excitement and thoughs of watching 6 straight hours of hockey on any given night. Mainly, I want my new daughter to be able to watch her future favortite hockey team, the Dallas Stars. Then, I heard the worst news ever. The lady on the other end of the line said "We don't have a contract with NHL Center Ice this year. Sorry. Maybe next year". If only she could have seen the middle finger I was holding up to the phone at that point.

I told you all of that so I could tell you this. I love hockey. Hockey is by far the most entertaining and exciting sport out there. It's perfect for those with a short attention span (AKA: Me). I admire the athletes who play this game. I am going out on a limb to say they are the by far the most athletic of all athletes. Sure...football is tough...baseball is lame...basketball is, well...boring. Try doing that on ice...with sweat soaked pads, using a stick to maneuver a 3 inch diameter peice of vulcanized rubber around 250 lb, 6'4" defensemen who are ready to knock you out at any given moment.

Since I love hockey so much, I actually canceled my current cable company and picked up a satelite cable company so I could get my beloved NHL Center Ice package. It was at this point I realized I have a sickness.

Hello...my name is James and I'm a hockeyholic.
