Stick and Puck

Welcome to Stick and Puck! The names stems from my love of the game of hockey. I cannot guarantee up-to-date hockey information here, but I can guarantee my political views and bizarre sense of humor will be in full effect. If you are easily offended, or have an affinity for the Repulican Party, you may want to read elsewhere. If you have an open mind and good sense of humor, come on in. New Orleans

Man...what a Cluster F*** that was and still is. It really stinks that in this day and age that something as terrible as race issues have to get involved with this. Hello...New Orleans has a very large African American population. That's who lives there...that's who you are going to see being evacuated. Sorry if that upsets you. The worst part is, it took days to get there when it wasn't really necessary. Levies broke, water from the Pontchartrain wereflooding the City and Bushie is out here in Arizona talking about Medicare and playing Golf with John McCain on his birthday. Way to respond there, CIC. Oh...and what about Michael "Browine" Brown that Bushie said did such a great job? Ummm....home squeeze dropped the ball. AND he's not even experienced in emergency management! Prior to working in his current position, "Brownie" was the head of the Arabian Horse Association. Hmm...That's like a shoe salesman transitioning into a surgeon's position. It doesn't work that way. Oh...that's right...Brownie is a good friend of Bushie. Kinda funny how many of Bushie's friends have government jobs, now isn't it?

Bottom line...it's gonna take a while to get New Orleans back in shape. Let's hope those who lost homes can get them rebuilt EXACTLY where they were instead of the Government coming in, condeming the land and then building casinos and hotels.

This is the New Orleans I remember...kind of...

King of the Throne

Ok....this is terrible, but I had to share.

A few days ago I headed to the restroom in dire need of extended seating time on the throne. There are three stalls. 2 regular and one handicap. The two regulars were filled up. I usually prefer the handicap stall because it's bigger. There's more space and I don't feel like I'm all closed in. So...I go in and take care of business. I usually take a few items to read or wind up playing a game on my cell phone to pass the time. I'm in there for a good 15-20 minutes because I got sucked into a high stakes game of Texas Hold-'Em on the cell phone. I finish up, tuck in the shirt, get all prepared, open the door and...D'OH! The only handicapped dude on the entire floor of my building is waiting there...looking irritated....waiting for me to finish taking my sweet time. OH THE SHAME! See...the problem is...that was the only stall available when I had to go and by the time he rolled in there the people in the other two stalls had left so I looked like a sefish jerk.

Note to self: Go downstairs and use the handicapped stall there... ;-)

Yaay!

Man I suck at keeping this updated. There's a lot going on in the world right now and plenty to comment on. I will try to get something up soon.
